Welcome to How to Escape from the 9 to 5!!! I’ve been doing the 9-5 for almost 40 years and enough is enough! I’m going to show you an alternative or three to the 9 to 5, so buckle up your seat belts and get ready for a ride!
MY STORY
Halfway through my senior year in high school I realized that I did not have the money to go to college and I did not want to work in a nearby factory, nor did I want to do some form of manual labor. Dad taught us what it was like to earn an honest day’s pay while growing up, thanks Dad!
Well, my only other option was the service. My oldest brother didn’t have anything good to say about the army at the time (he was from Vietnam era) and I sure liked watching John Wayne movies (Sands of Iwo Jima) so you can guess where this is going. Yep! My friend and I enlisted in the Marine Corps February of our senior year, 1980.
During my 20 year career in the Marine Corps, I earned my bachelor’s in computer science and had worked several part-time jobs to see what they were like. I also tried to run a home business selling PCs, made for a good experience, anyway. And, it gave me my next direction into IT (information technology).
During my last 3 months of active duty I studied for and passed the Microsoft MCSE +Internet and CompTIA A+ certifications. This gave me what I needed to get an entry level position working in Korea. I retired from the Marine Corps out of Okinawa, Japan.
I worked up the ladder in the same company for 9 years, switched companies to reduce the amount of hours I was required to work and a year and a half later the job disappeared. In a scramble to find work I took an entry level position until I was hired for a position in Germany.
I came to Germany as a network engineer and have worked here for 8 years now. During all of this time I have had to constantly test and retest to keep certified as part of my employment. To be quite frank, I’m just so tired of it and don’t want to do it anymore.
It’s time to escape from the 9 to 5!

I want to help others escape from the 9 to 5 because it will push me to work harder not only for me but for them, as well. When you make a public announcement that you are going to help someone then there is no turning back! I am a man of my word and my word has been given. There is no taking it back now!
THE GOAL OF HOW TO ESCAPE FROM THE 9 TO 5
The goal of this site and my goal is to generate enough income that we can hand in our resignation and work this job full time instead of working it from 7PM to midnight or 1AM. I will present you with ways to earn money while working from home.
I will also show you ways other people are saying to work from home and let you know if what they are proposing is legit, a scam, or possible but really hard to do. Its one thing to say you can earn $100 a day doing X by working 4 or 5 hours to do that and quite another to say you can earn $1000 per day by only working one hour a day to get that.
